Current Habitat ReStore & Donation Center Hours of Operation: The ReStore performs a valuable community service by diverting large amounts of reusable materials from landfills and providing these products to the public at affordable prices. The ReStore then sells these goods to the general public to help fund the construction of new Habitat houses within the local community. All items for acceptance are subject to ReStore staff discretion. The ReStore also accepts donations, subject to customer demand, from contractors, suppliers, individuals and organizations. We have had handy people test and even repair small appliances before we sell them, and we have had people with decorating talents help us create attractive displays and even offer DIY makeover classes! From helping unload trucks, to organizing inventory, to setting up floor displays, you can put your individual talents to work. Volunteers are crucial to the success of Habitat and there are unique opportunities to serve at the ReStore. We have limited staffing and cannot guarantee we will have adequate staffing/volunteers to load large, heavy purchases. We have carts, dollies, and hand trucks available for you to use while shopping and loading items purchased. NOTE: Please bring someone to help you load larger and/or heavier items into your car. We have had all those and more! In fact, it has been said we have almost everything to build a house and furnish it too! DIY fans will love our selection of kitchen cabinetry, vanities and plumbing fixtures, wood and tile flooring, windows, doors and even small tools! Fair warning, upon entering ReStore Alamance you may experience an overwhelming desire to treasure hunt! You never know what you may come across when shopping here. It may be that glass doorknob-you thought were diamonds growing up, that missing gravy boat that completes your Auntie Bess’ china or that bowling ball you need for your yard art.
